IF Väster/Näset

IF Väster/Näset was one of 421 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2017. They participated with one team in Girls 14. In addition to IF Väster/Näset, 98 other teams from 6 different countries played in Girls 14. They were divided into 24 different groups, whereof IF Väster/Näset could be found in Group 10 together with Djurgårdens IF, Lillehammer KFK 2 and Umedalens IF. IF Väster/Näset continued to Play off A after reaching 2:nd place in Group 10. In the playoff they made it to 1/32 Final, but lost it against IF Brommapojkarna with 0-3. In the Final, AIK FF won over Hammarby IF FF and became the winner of Play off A in Girls 14. Väster/Näset originates from Göteborg, which is the same city as where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Göteborg does also provide 65 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2017 (Among others: Kungsbacka DFF, Guldhedens IK, Backatorp IF, Hovås-Billdal IF, Kållered SK, Hjuviks AIK, Mölndal Fotboll, IK Kongahälla, Lunden ÖBK and Särö IK).
