The Football Academy Dubai

The Football Academy Dubai was one of 10 clubs from United Arab Emirates that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2016. They participated with one team in Boys 16. In addition to The Football Academy Dubai, 186 other teams from 38 different countries played in Boys 16. They were divided into 46 different groups, whereof The Football Academy Dubai could be found in Group 35 together with IFK Falköping FF, Lillestrøm SK 2 and Smedby AIS. The Football Academy Dubai continued to Play off B after reaching 4:th place in Group 35. In the playoff they made it to 1/64 Final, but lost it against Roanoke Star with 0-1. In the Final, Cayyolu FC won over Hong Kong FC and became the winner of Play off B in Boys 16. The Football Academy Dubai comes from Dubai which lies approximately 5000 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Dubai does also provide six additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2016 (It's Just Football, Alliance FC, Sport 4 All, Precor, Go-Pro Sports and Match Sport).
