Bergnäsets AIK

Bergnäsets AIK was one of 468 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2016. They participated with one team in Girls 16. In addition to Bergnäsets AIK, 80 other teams from 13 different countries played in Girls 16. They were divided into 20 different groups, whereof Bergnäsets AIK could be found in Group 1 together with Eastside FC, AC Gilleleje and IFK Norrköping DFK. Bergnäsets AIK continued to Play off B after reaching 4:th place in Group 1. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against IFK Nyköping/Hargs BK with 0-2. In the Final, Tromsø IL won over Norrstrands IF and became the winner of Play off B in Girls 16. Bergnäsets AIK comes from Luleå which lies approximately 1000 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Luleå does also provide four additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2016 (Lira BK, Alviks IK, Sunderby SK and Gammelstads IF).
