BK Astrio

BK Astrio was one of 468 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2016. They participated with one team in Girls 14. In addition to BK Astrio, 74 other teams from 11 different countries played in Girls 14. They were divided into 18 different groups, whereof BK Astrio could be found in Group 8 together with Swindon Town FITC, Enskede IK 1, IFK Göteborg and Umeå Södra FF. BK Astrio continued to Play off A after reaching 1:st place in Group 8. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against Gasteizko Neskak with 1-2. In the Final, AIK FF won over The Calgary Foothills Soccer Club and became the winner of Play off A in Girls 14. Astrio comes from Halmstad which lies approximately 130 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Halmstad does also provide 7 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2016 (Skrea IF, IS Halmia, Centern, IF, Förslövs IF, Hasslöv/Skottorp, IF Böljan and Torup/Rydö FF).
