Värtans IK

Värtans IK was one of 468 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2016. They participated with one team in Boys 13. In addition to Värtans IK, 137 other teams from 32 different countries played in Boys 13. They were divided into 34 different groups, whereof Värtans IK could be found in Group 15 together with Heath & Regents Park FC, F.C. Beirut and Hjuviks AIK. Värtans IK continued to Play off B after reaching 3:rd place in Group 15. In the playoff they made it to 1/32 Final, but lost it against VSK Osterholz-Scharmbeck with 0-3. In the Final, Coerver Michigan Performance Academy won over IK Zenith and became the winner of Play off B in Boys 13. Värtans comes from Stockholm which lies approximately 400 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Stockholm does also provide 66 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2016 (Among others: IFK Lidingö FK, Boo FF, Boo IS, Bollstanäs SK, Hammarby IF DFF, Saltsjö-Boo IF, Enskede IK, Årsta FF, Rönninge Salem Fotboll and IF Brommapojkarna).
