Irvine Slammers

Irvine Slammers was one of 43 clubs from USA that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2016. They participated with one team in Boys 18. In addition to Irvine Slammers, 98 other teams from 30 different countries played in Boys 18. They were divided into 24 different groups, whereof Irvine Slammers could be found in Group 9 together with Selección RED, IS Halmia, Alexandria Sporting Club and Vårgårda IK. Irvine Slammers continued to Play off A after reaching 2:nd place in Group 9. In the playoff they made it to 1/32 Final, but lost it against Aalborg Chang with 1-3. In the Final, BK Häcken won over JFV Hanse Lübeck and became the winner of Play off A in Boys 18. Irvine Slammers comes from Irvine which lies approximately 8800 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place.
