Vårgårda IK

Vårgårda IK was one of 468 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2016. They participated with one team in Boys 18. In addition to Vårgårda IK, 98 other teams from 30 different countries played in Boys 18. They were divided into 24 different groups, whereof Vårgårda IK could be found in Group 9 together with Selección RED, Irvine Slammers, IS Halmia and Alexandria Sporting Club. Vårgårda IK continued to Play off B after reaching 3:rd place in Group 9. In the playoff they made it to 1/4 Final, but lost it against AS Poissy with 1-4. In the Final, AS Poissy won over Club Paris Mexico and became the winner of Play off B in Boys 18. Vårgårda comes from Vårgårda which lies approximately 61 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Vårgårda does also provide 7 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2016 (Holmalunds IF, Skepplanda BTK, Gerdskens BK, Sparsörs AIK, IF Elfsborg, Floby IF and Sjömarken/Sandareds IF).
