Academy of Baghdad was one of two clubs from Jordan that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2013. They participated with one team in Boys 16. In addition to Academy of Baghdad, 176 other teams from 28 different countries played in Boys 16. They were divided into 44 different groups, whereof Academy of Baghdad could be found in Group 27 together with IL Vestbyen, Rynninge IK and Roanoke Star Elite. Academy of Baghdad continued to Play off B after reaching 4:th place in Group 27. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against Garuda Keadilan FC with 2-4. In the Final, Skiljebo SK won over Seatown FC and became the winner of Play off B in Boys 16. Academy of Baghdad also participated in Boys 15 during Gothia Cup 2012. They reached the 1/64 Final in B15 Slutspel B, but lost it against Bollstanäs SK with 0-1. Academy of Baghdad comes from Amman which lies approximately 3400 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. Other than Academy of Baghdad, the club Amman Football Academy does also originate from the area around Amman.
