Ekerö IK was one of 417 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2012. They participated with one team in Boys 18. In addition to Ekerö IK, 147 other teams from 33 different countries played in Boys 18. They were divided into 36 different groups, whereof Ekerö IK could be found in Group 26 together with Kampala Junior Team, IFK Tumba and RS Magny. Ekerö IK continued to Slutspel B after reaching 4:th place in Group 26. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against Onsala BK with 1-2. In the Final, Corsa FC 1 won over C.B./Oeste Solidaria and became the winner of Slutspel B in Boys 18. Ekerö comes from Ekerö which lies approximately 380 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Ekerö does also provide 55 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2012 (Among others: Spånga IS FK, IF Brommapojkarna, AIK FF, Älvsjö AIK FF, Bollstanäs SK, Tullinge TP, Rosersberg IK, Rönninge Salem Fotboll, Värtans IK and DFF, Vasalunds).
