Åsa IF was one of 417 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2012. They participated with one team in Girls 13. In addition to Åsa IF, 39 other teams from 9 different countries played in Girls 13. They were divided into 10 different groups, whereof Åsa IF could be found in Group 10 together with Trönninge IFTrönninge IF, Frigg Oslo FK and Bagarmossen Kärrtorp BK. Åsa IF continued to Slutspel A after reaching 2:nd place in Group 10. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against Oulu Nice Soccer with 0-5. In the Final, Södra Sandby IF won over Boo FF and became the winner of Slutspel A in Girls 13. Åsa comes from Åsa which lies approximately 45 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Åsa does also provide 26 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2012 (Among others: IF Väster, Näsets SK, Södra Skärgården IK, BK Bifrost, Tölö IF, Kungsbacka IF, Fässbergs IF, Mölnlycke IF, Lerkils IF and Annebergs IF).
