Amman Football Academy was one of two clubs from Jordan that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2017. They participated with one team in Boys 11. In addition to Amman Football Academy, 129 other teams from 27 different countries played in Boys 11. They were divided into 32 different groups, whereof Amman Football Academy could be found in Group 23 together with JSSL Singapore 2, Torslanda IK and IFK Lidingö 2. Amman Football Academy continued to Play off B after reaching 4:th place in Group 23. In the playoff they made it to 1/32 Final, but lost it against Helsingborgs IF 2 with 2-10. In the Final, Prep School Pumas 2 won over Gauldal Fotballklubb and became the winner of Play off B in Boys 11. Amman Football Academy comes from Amman which lies approximately 3400 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. Other than Amman Football Academy, the club Academy of Baghdad does also originate from the area around Amman.
