Vålerenga Fotball

Vålerenga Fotball was one of 59 clubs from Norway that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2017. They participated with one team in Girls 18. In addition to Vålerenga Fotball, 61 other teams from 12 different countries played in Girls 18. They were divided into 15 different groups, whereof Vålerenga Fotball could be found in Group 13 together with SG Borken e.V., Bergnäsets AIK and Jitex Mölndal BK. Vålerenga Fotball continued to Play off A after reaching 1:st place in Group 13. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against Asarums IF/FK with 2-4. In the Final, Lyn Fotball won over Eskilsminne IF and became the winner of Play off A in Girls 18. Vålerenga Fotball comes from oslo which lies approximately 250 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around oslo does also provide 12 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2017 (Among others: Oppsal IF, Nittedal IL, Skjetten Fotball, Lillestrøm SK, Lyn Fotball, Stabæk Fotball, BVH Fotball, FK Fjellhamar, Asker SKK and Fet IL).
