Malmö FF was one of 421 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2017. They participated with one team in Gothia Tipselit Trophy (B17). In addition to Malmö FF, 36 other teams from 14 different countries played in Gothia Tipselit Trophy (B17). They were divided into 6 different groups, whereof Malmö FF could be found in Group 6 together with Osasco FC, NK KRŠKO and Örebro SK. Malmö FF continued to Play off B after reaching 4:th place in Group 6. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against IFK Göteborg with 0-1. In the Final, Djurgårdens IF won over Jönköpings Södra IF and became the winner of Play off B in Gothia Tipselit Trophy (B17). Malmö FF also participated in Gothia Tipselit Trophy (B17) during Gothia Cup 2016. They reached the 1/8 Final in B17E Play off A, but lost it against AIK FF with 1-2. Malmö comes from Malmö which lies approximately 250 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Malmö does also provide 38 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2017 (Among others: Södra Sandby IF, BK Flagg, Lunds SK, Trollenäs IF, IF Lödde, Furulunds IK, Torna Hällestad IF, Ödåkra IF, IFK Klagshamn and FC Bellevue).
