VJS Vantaa

VJS Vantaa was one of 12 clubs from Finland that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2017. They participated with one team in Girls 14. In addition to VJS Vantaa, 98 other teams from 6 different countries played in Girls 14. They were divided into 24 different groups, whereof VJS Vantaa could be found in Group 21 together with Furulunds IK, Skogås/Trångsunds FF and Jitex Mölndal BK. VJS Vantaa continued to Play off A after reaching 1:st place in Group 21. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against Lerums IS with 0-5. In the Final, AIK FF won over Hammarby IF FF and became the winner of Play off A in Girls 14. VJS Vantaa comes from Vantaa which lies approximately 800 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Vantaa does also provide three additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2017 (Puotinkylän Valtti, Special Olympics Finland and Puotinkylän Valtti/Itä United).
