Kvarnby IK

Kvarnby IK was one of 421 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2017. They participated with one team in Boys 16. In addition to Kvarnby IK, 179 other teams from 34 different countries played in Boys 16. They were divided into 44 different groups, whereof Kvarnby IK could be found in Group 5 together with SA United SC, Örgryte IS and Guernsey Schools. Kvarnby IK continued to Play off B after reaching 3:rd place in Group 5. In the playoff they made it to 1/32 Final, but lost it against Lindome GIF with 3-5. In the Final, Phoenix Football Academy won over IK Zenith and became the winner of Play off B in Boys 16. Kvarnby comes from Malmö which lies approximately 250 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Malmö does also provide 38 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2017 (Among others: Södra Sandby IF, BK Flagg, Lunds SK, Trollenäs IF, IF Lödde, Furulunds IK, Torna Hällestad IF, Ödåkra IF, IFK Klagshamn and FC Bellevue).
