Phoenix Sports

Phoenix Sports was one of 9 clubs from India that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2016. They participated with one team in Boys 15. In addition to Phoenix Sports, 224 other teams from 34 different countries played in Boys 15. They were divided into 55 different groups, whereof Phoenix Sports could be found in Group 36 together with IFK Östersund 1, Ronneby BK and Sösdala IF. Phoenix Sports continued to Play off B after reaching 4:th place in Group 36. In the playoff they made it to 1/64 Final, but lost it against Strands IF with 0-5. In the Final, Stångebro United won over Sandarna BK and became the winner of Play off B in Boys 15. Phoenix Sports comes from MUMBAI which lies approximately 6500 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around MUMBAI does also provide two additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2016 (Utpal Shanghvi Global School and Shakti Sports Academy).
