Essinge IK

Essinge IK was one of 468 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2016. They participated with one team in Boys 14. In addition to Essinge IK, 231 other teams from 32 different countries played in Boys 14. They were divided into 57 different groups, whereof Essinge IK could be found in Group 37 together with Lyn Fotball, Dalby GIF and The Rainbow team. Essinge IK continued to Play off B after reaching 4:th place in Group 37. In the playoff they made it to 1/64 Final, but lost it against Kulladals FF with 1-3. In the Final, Walddörfer SV 1 won over Lerums IS 2 and became the winner of Play off B in Boys 14. Essinge comes from Stockholm which lies approximately 390 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Stockholm does also provide 67 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2016 (Among others: IFK Lidingö FK, Boo FF, Boo IS, Bollstanäs SK, Hammarby IF DFF, Saltsjö-Boo IF, Enskede IK, Årsta FF, Rönninge Salem Fotboll and IF Brommapojkarna).
