Borgeby FK

Borgeby FK was one of 468 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2016. They participated with one team in Girls 16. In addition to Borgeby FK, 80 other teams from 13 different countries played in Girls 16. They were divided into 20 different groups, whereof Borgeby FK could be found in Group 14 together with Lillestrøm SK, AIK FF and Hofors AIF. Borgeby FK continued to Play off A after reaching 2:nd place in Group 14. In the playoff they made it to Semi final, but lost it against Scandia United SA with 0-1. In the Final, Holmalunds IF won over Scandia United SA and became the winner of Play off A in Girls 16. Borgeby FK comes from Bjärred which lies approximately 230 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Bjärred does also provide 33 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2016 (Among others: Södra Sandby IF, BK Höllviken, Staffanstorps GIF, LB07, Hyllie IK, Furulunds IK, Råå IF, FC Staffanstorp, Lilla Torg FF and Lunds BK).
