Academica de Santarem

Academica de Santarem was one of 7 clubs from Portugal that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2016. They participated with one team in Boys 13. In addition to Academica de Santarem, 137 other teams from 32 different countries played in Boys 13. They were divided into 34 different groups, whereof Academica de Santarem could be found in Group 3 together with Prep School Lions 4, Stenungsunds IF and Walddörfer SV. Academica de Santarem continued to Play off A after reaching 1:st place in Group 3. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against Colegio Once Mexico with 1-2. In the Final, CA Intercups Mexico won over Topskor Indonesia and became the winner of Play off A in Boys 13. Academica de Santarem comes from Santarém which lies approximately 2500 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place.
