IF Viken

IF Viken was one of 468 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2016. They participated with one team in Girls 14. In addition to IF Viken, 74 other teams from 11 different countries played in Girls 14. They were divided into 18 different groups, whereof IF Viken could be found in Group 14 together with Alnö IF, Lekstorps IF, FH 2 and Södra Sandby IF. IF Viken continued to Play off B after reaching 5:th place in Group 14. In the playoff they made it to 1/32 Final, but lost it against Eriksbergs IF with 0-2. In the Final, Swindon Town FITC won over Järvenpään Palloseura and became the winner of Play off B in Girls 14. Viken comes from Åmål which lies approximately 140 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Åmål does also provide two additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2016 (Melleruds IF and Bengtsfors IF).
