ASD Mezzolara

ASD Mezzolara was one of 9 clubs from Italy that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2013. They participated with one team in Boys 16. In addition to ASD Mezzolara, 176 other teams from 29 different countries played in Boys 16. They were divided into 44 different groups, whereof ASD Mezzolara could be found in Group 10 together with Sandefjord BK 1, Villastadens IF and Essinge IK. ASD Mezzolara continued to Play off A after reaching 2:nd place in Group 10. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against MTV Treubund Lüneburg 1 with 5-6. In the Final, Kampala Junior Team won over Consadole Sapporo and became the winner of Play off A in Boys 16. ASD Mezzolara comes from Budrio which lies approximately 1500 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. Other than ASD Mezzolara, the club F.C. Castenaso A.S.D. does also originate from the area around Budrio.
