Tokyo Verdy

Tokyo Verdy was the only club from Japan that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2012. They participated with one team in Boys 16. In addition to Tokyo Verdy, 188 other teams from 33 different countries played in Boys 16. They were divided into 47 different groups, whereof Tokyo Verdy could be found in Group 1 together with Täby IS 1, Senrab Lions and Hässleholms IF. Tokyo Verdy continued to Slutspel A after reaching 1:st place in Group 1. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against IF Elfsborg with 1-2. In the Final, Paris F.C won over Cruzeiro EC and became the winner of Slutspel A in Boys 16. Tokyo Verdy comes from 12 Tokyo which lies approximately 8500 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place.
