Kvarnby IK 2

Kvarnby IK was one of 417 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2012. They participated with one team in Boys 16. In addition to Kvarnby IK, 188 other teams from 34 different countries played in Boys 16. They were divided into 47 different groups, whereof Kvarnby IK 2 could be found in Group 26 together with Eskilstuna City FK 1, FC Puuma Tallinn Kopli and InterClubes. Kvarnby IK 2 continued to Slutspel A after reaching 1:st place in Group 26. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against Lärje/Angered IF with 1-2. In the Final, Paris F.C won over Cruzeiro EC and became the winner of Slutspel A in Boys 16. Kvarnby comes from Malmö which lies approximately 250 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Malmö does also provide 29 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2012 (Among others: Gröndals IK, Genarps IF/Dalby GIF, IFK Trelleborg, GIF Nike, Bara GIF, Skanör-Falsterbo IF, LB07, Skurups AIF, Trollenäs IF and AB Tårnby).
