Sandviks IK

Sandviks IK was one of 417 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2012. They participated with one team in Boys 18. In addition to Sandviks IK, 147 other teams from 33 different countries played in Boys 18. They were divided into 36 different groups, whereof Sandviks IK could be found in Group 8 together with SV Dalum, Al Farasa and Hässelby SK FF. Sandviks IK continued to Slutspel A after reaching 1:st place in Group 8. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against Verdal IL with 0-1. In the Final, Fässbergs IF won over Fyllingsdalen FK and became the winner of Slutspel A in Boys 18. Sandviks comes from Holmsund which lies approximately 810 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Holmsund does also provide 12 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2012 (Among others: Gimonäs Umeå IF, Hörnefors IF, Ersboda SK, IFK Holmsund/Sandviks IK, Tegs SK, IFK Umeå/Mariehem, Sävar IK, Sörfors IF, Mariehem SK and Spölands IF).
