Sävar IK was one of 417 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2012. They participated with one team in Girls 15. In addition to Sävar IK, 110 other teams from 12 different countries played in Girls 15. They were divided into 27 different groups, whereof Sävar IK could be found in Group 1 together with ASD Femminile Inter Milano, Syrianska IF and IF Team Hudik. Sävar IK continued to Slutspel A after reaching 2:nd place in Group 1. In the playoff they made it to 1/32 Final, but lost it against Eskilstuna United DFF with 0-5. In the Final, IF Brommapojkarna won over Gamla Upsala SK and became the winner of Slutspel A in Girls 15. Sävar comes from Sävar which lies approximately 830 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Sävar does also provide 12 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2012 (Among others: Gimonäs Umeå IF, Ersboda SK, IFK Holmsund/Sandviks IK, Tegs SK, IFK Umeå/Mariehem, Sörfors IF, Sandåkerns SK, Mariehem SK, Spölands IF and Täfteå IK).
