Sporting Lagos was one of four clubs from Nigeria that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2024. They participated with one team in Gothia Puma Trophy (B17). In addition to Sporting Lagos, 35 other teams from 11 different countries played in Gothia Puma Trophy (B17). They were divided into 6 different groups, whereof Sporting Lagos could be found in Group 5 together with NorCal Premier PDP, IFK Norrköping and Mjällby AIF. Sporting Lagos made it to Play off A after reaching 1:st place in Group 5. Once in the playoff they won every match inluding the Final against FC Tokyo, which they won with 4-0. Thereby Sporting Lagos won the entire Play off A in Gothia Puma Trophy (B17) during Gothia Cup 2024. Sporting Lagos comes from Lagos which lies approximately 5800 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place.
