Västerås SK Fotboll

Västerås SK Fotboll was one of 429 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2023. They participated with one team in Girls 16. In addition to Västerås SK Fotboll, 74 other teams from 12 different countries played in Girls 16. They were divided into 18 different groups, whereof Västerås SK Fotboll could be found in Group 11 together with USM Senlis, Toarpsalliansen and Älvsjö AIK FF 2. Västerås SK Fotboll continued to Play off A after reaching 1:st place in Group 11. In the playoff they made it to Semi final, but lost it against AS Laval with 0-2. In the Final, SV Eutingen won over AS Laval and became the winner of Play off A in Girls 16. Västerås SK comes from Västerås which lies approximately 340 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Västerås does also provide 20 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2023 (Among others: IFK Västerås FK, Barkarö SK, Irsta IF, Skiljebo SK, IK Franke, Åkra FC, AFC Eskilstuna, Torshälla-Nyby IS, Västerås IK and Sala FF).
