Åhus IF

Åhus IF was one of 429 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2023. They participated with one team in Girls 16. In addition to Åhus IF, 74 other teams from 12 different countries played in Girls 16. They were divided into 18 different groups, whereof Åhus IF could be found in Group 6 together with St. Paul Blackhawks Hagg, Hammarby IF FF and Tromsø IL. Åhus IF continued to Play off B after reaching 3:rd place in Group 6. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against Dösjöbro IF with 0-3. In the Final, Mölnlycke IF won over New Mill FC and became the winner of Play off B in Girls 16. Åhus IF also participated in Girls 15 during Gothia Cup 2022. They reached the 1/32 Final in G15 Play off A, but lost it against JSSL Singapore with 0-5. Åhus comes from Åhus which lies approximately 250 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Åhus does also provide 7 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2023 (Mjällby AIF, Kristianstads DFF, Vinslövs IF, Wä IF, IFK Knislinge, Kristianstad FC and Åhus HBK).
