Academia Mexico

Academia Mexico was one of 25 clubs from Mexico that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2023. They participated with one team in Boys 17. In addition to Academia Mexico, 109 other teams from 21 different countries played in Boys 17. They were divided into 27 different groups, whereof Academia Mexico could be found in Group 6 together with Charterhouse School, Anderstorp IF and SV Lurup-Hamburg v. 1923. Academia Mexico continued to Play off B after reaching 4:th place in Group 6. In the playoff they made it to 1/32 Final, but lost it against Swindon Town FITC with 0-1. In the Final, Volf Soccer Academy won over Östersunds FK and became the winner of Play off B in Boys 17. Academia Mexico comes from MEXICO which lies approximately 9400 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around MEXICO does also provide 16 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2023 (Among others: CF Interclubes Mexico, Club Caref, Cefor Jilo, Sisukas FC, IFAC, Academy Elite, Mexico United FC, Cefor San Luis, Nido Valle Dorado and Femelite F.C).
