Västanfors IF

Västanfors IF was one of 429 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2023. They participated with one team in Girls 16. In addition to Västanfors IF, 74 other teams from 12 different countries played in Girls 16. They were divided into 18 different groups, whereof Västanfors IF could be found in Group 4 together with Sporting Duet FC, Arnäs IF and NJ14 Soccer Club. Västanfors IF continued to Play off A after reaching 2:nd place in Group 4. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against Öckerö IF with 0-5. In the Final, SV Eutingen won over AS Laval and became the winner of Play off A in Girls 16. Västanfors comes from Fagersta which lies approximately 340 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Fagersta does also provide two additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2023 (Fagersta Södra IK and Sätra IF).
