Västerås IK

Västerås IK was one of 429 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2023. They participated with one team in Boys 13. In addition to Västerås IK, 193 other teams from 27 different countries played in Boys 13. They were divided into 48 different groups, whereof Västerås IK could be found in Group 47 together with SK Sprint-Jeløy 2, Kungsbacka IF 2 and JDFS Alberts 2. Västerås IK continued to Play off A after reaching 1:st place in Group 47. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against Tecnifutbol Academy with 2-4. In the Final, Minerva Academy FC won over Ordin FC and became the winner of Play off A in Boys 13. Västerås comes from Västerås which lies approximately 340 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Västerås does also provide 20 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2023 (Among others: IFK Västerås FK, Barkarö SK, Irsta IF, Skiljebo SK, IK Franke, Åkra FC, AFC Eskilstuna, Torshälla-Nyby IS, Sala FF and Munktorps BK).
