IFK Östersund

IFK Östersund was one of 429 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2023. They participated with one team in Girls 17. In addition to IFK Östersund, 64 other teams from 10 different countries played in Girls 17. They were divided into 16 different groups, whereof IFK Östersund could be found in Group 5 together with Charlotte Independence, Jitex BK and Avaldsnes IL. IFK Östersund continued to Play off B after reaching 3:rd place in Group 5. In the playoff they made it to 1/4 Final, but lost it against Mexico United FC with 0-1. In the Final, FC Schweinfurt 05 won over Eskilsminne IF and became the winner of Play off B in Girls 17. IFK Östersund comes from Östersund which lies approximately 620 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Östersund does also provide three additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2023 (Ope IF, Myssjö/Ovikens IF and Östersunds FK).
