Vendelsö IK

Vendelsö IK was one of 429 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2023. They participated with one team in Girls 16. In addition to Vendelsö IK, 74 other teams from 12 different countries played in Girls 16. They were divided into 18 different groups, whereof Vendelsö IK could be found in Group 12 together with Mölnlycke IF, Fredrikstad Fotballklubb, Älvsjö AIK FF 1 and Volsungur. Vendelsö IK continued to Play off B after reaching 3:rd place in Group 12. In the playoff they made it to 1/4 Final, but lost it against Boo FF with 2-4. In the Final, Mölnlycke IF won over New Mill FC and became the winner of Play off B in Girls 16. Vendelsö IK also participated in Girls 15 during Gothia Cup 2022. They reached the 1/4 Final in G15 Play off B, but lost it against Nässjö FF with 0-2. Vendelsö comes from Ven which lies approximately 210 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Ven does also provide 18 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2023 (Among others: IF Lödde, Torns IF, GIF Nike, Ängelholms FF, Eskilsminne IF, Furulunds IK, Kävlinge Harrie FF, Hittarps IK, Ramlösa Södra IF and Lunds BoiS).
