Riga FC was one of three clubs from Latvia that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2022. They participated with one team in Gothia Puma Trophy (B17). In addition to Riga FC, 24 other teams from 9 different countries played in Gothia Puma Trophy (B17). They were divided into 6 different groups, whereof Riga FC could be found in Group 6 together with Kalmar FF, Örgryte IS and Landskrona BoIS. Riga FC continued to Play off B after reaching 4:th place in Group 6. In the playoff they made it to 1/4 Final, but lost it against IF Elfsborg with 1-4. In the Final, Malmö FF won over GAIS and became the winner of Play off B in Gothia Puma Trophy (B17). Other than Riga FC, the club JDFS Alberts does also originate from the area around .
