Värtans IK

Värtans IK was one of 400 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2022. They participated with one team in Girls 13. In addition to Värtans IK, 40 other teams from 6 different countries played in Girls 13. They were divided into 10 different groups, whereof Värtans IK could be found in Group 8 together with FC New England, Jitex BK and The Tactical Specialists FC. Värtans IK continued to Play off B after reaching 3:rd place in Group 8. In the playoff they made it to Semi final, but lost it against Lerums IS with 1-2. In the Final, Lerums IS won over ATSV Scharmbeckstotel and became the winner of Play off B in Girls 13. Värtans comes from Stockholm which lies approximately 400 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Stockholm does also provide 64 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2022 (Among others: Maj FC, EKF Täby, Sickla IF, FC Djursholm, Tyresö FF, Pershagens SK, Enskede IK, Djurgårdens IF, Värmdö IF and Skogås/Trångsunds FF).
