Åhus IF

Åhus IF was one of 400 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2022. They participated with one team in Girls 15. In addition to Åhus IF, 117 other teams from 12 different countries played in Girls 15. They were divided into 29 different groups, whereof Åhus IF could be found in Group 20 together with Vendelsö IK 1, Tromsø IL and IK Sirius FK 2. Åhus IF continued to Play off A after reaching 2:nd place in Group 20. In the playoff they made it to 1/32 Final, but lost it against JSSL Singapore with 0-5. In the Final, FC New England won over Hammarby IF FF and became the winner of Play off A in Girls 15. Åhus comes from Åhus which lies approximately 250 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Åhus does also provide five additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2022 (Sölvesborgs GIF/Lörby IF, IFK Knislinge, Kristianstads DFF, Vinslövs IF and Mjällby AIF).
