Vänersborgs IF

Vänersborgs IF was one of 400 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2022. They participated with one team in Girls 18. In addition to Vänersborgs IF, 33 other teams from 7 different countries played in Girls 18. They were divided into 8 different groups, whereof Vänersborgs IF could be found in Group 2 together with VGA Saint Maur Feminin 1, Orust FC and IFK Fjärås. Vänersborgs IF continued to Play off B after reaching 4:th place in Group 2. In the playoff they made it to 1/4 Final, but lost it against Viggbyholms IK FF with 0-2. In the Final, Sundsvalls DFF won over Viggbyholms IK FF and became the winner of Play off B in Girls 18. Vänersborgs comes from Vänersborg which lies approximately 74 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Vänersborg does also provide 10 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2022 (Trollhättans FK, Skoftebyns IF, Vänersborgs FK, Trollhättans IF, Ljungskile SK, Orust FC, Melleruds IF, IFK Uddevalla, Halvorstorps IS and Skepplanda BTK/Lödöse Nygård IK).
