Glenmuir United FC

Glenmuir United FC was one of three clubs from the Republic of Ireland that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2022. They participated with one team in Boys 17. In addition to Glenmuir United FC, 84 other teams from 20 different countries played in Boys 17. They were divided into 20 different groups, whereof Glenmuir United FC could be found in Group 17 together with Värmdö IF, Fana Fotball and Vänersborgs FK. Glenmuir United FC continued to Play off B after reaching 4:th place in Group 17. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against Kungsbacka IF with 0-7. In the Final, Groß Flottbek won over Altona 93 and became the winner of Play off B in Boys 17. Glenmuir United FC comes from Dundalk which lies approximately 1200 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. Other than Glenmuir United FC, the club Dundalk Schoolboys League does also originate from the area around Dundalk.
