IFK Björkö

IFK Björkö was one of 400 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2022. They participated with one team in Girls 15. In addition to IFK Björkö, 117 other teams from 12 different countries played in Girls 15. They were divided into 29 different groups, whereof IFK Björkö could be found in Group 16 together with FC New England, Älmhults IF and IFK Stocksund 1. IFK Björkö continued to Play off A after reaching 2:nd place in Group 16. In the playoff they made it to 1/32 Final, but lost it against Ellicott City SC with 0-1. In the Final, FC New England won over Hammarby IF FF and became the winner of Play off A in Girls 15. IFK Björkö comes from Björkö which lies approximately 16 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Björkö does also provide 62 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2022 (Among others: Älvängens IK, Ytterby IS, Qviding FIF, Askims IK, Stenkullen GoIK, Jonsereds IF, Sandarna BK, IK Zenith, Grunden Bois and Utbynäs SK).
