Gefle IF

Gefle IF was one of 400 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2022. They participated with one team in Girls 16. In addition to Gefle IF, 82 other teams from 9 different countries played in Girls 16. They were divided into 20 different groups, whereof Gefle IF could be found in Group 9 together with Redlands, Kristianstads DFF and Hønefoss BK. Gefle IF continued to Play off B after reaching 4:th place in Group 9. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against 1776 United FC with 0-5. In the Final, Vikingur won over IFK Kalmar and became the winner of Play off B in Girls 16. Gefle comes from Gävle which lies approximately 440 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Gävle does also provide six additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2022 (Sandvikens IF, Hille IF, Stensätra IF, Strömsbro IF, Högbo AIK and Valbo FF).
