Älvängens IK

Älvängens IK was one of 400 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2022. They participated with one team in Girls 15. In addition to Älvängens IK, 117 other teams from 12 different countries played in Girls 15. They were divided into 29 different groups, whereof Älvängens IK could be found in Group 14 together with Tyresö FF, IFK Kristinehamn and San Francisco Lions. Älvängens IK continued to Play off A after reaching 2:nd place in Group 14. In the playoff they made it to 1/32 Final, but lost it against California Magic SC with 2-4. In the Final, FC New England won over Hammarby IF FF and became the winner of Play off A in Girls 15. Älvängens comes from Älvängen which lies approximately 25 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Älvängen does also provide 65 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2022 (Among others: Ytterby IS, Qviding FIF, Askims IK, Stenkullen GoIK, Jonsereds IF, Sandarna BK, IK Zenith, Grunden Bois, Utbynäs SK and Azalea BK/Mossens BK).
