San Diego Football Academy

San Diego Football Academy was one of 50 clubs from USA that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2019. They participated with one team in Boys 16. In addition to San Diego Football Academy, 171 other teams from 29 different countries played in Boys 16. They were divided into 42 different groups, whereof San Diego Football Academy could be found in Group 11 together with GAIS, Concordia Eschersheim and Torsås GoIF. San Diego Football Academy continued to Play off B after reaching 3:rd place in Group 11. In the playoff they made it to 1/32 Final, but lost it against Huddinge IF Gul with 3-5. In the Final, Phoenix Football Club won over Beirut FAC and became the winner of Play off B in Boys 16. San Diego Football Academy comes from San Diego which lies approximately 8900 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around San Diego does also provide two additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2019 (SoCal United and San Diego Soccer Club).
