Higashiyama Highschool

Higashiyama Highschool was one of four clubs from Japan that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2019. They participated with one team in Boys 18. In addition to Higashiyama Highschool, 134 other teams from 26 different countries played in Boys 18. They were divided into 33 different groups, whereof Higashiyama Highschool could be found in Group 2 together with Stala IF, SK Djerv 1919 and Walddörfer SV 2. Higashiyama Highschool continued to Play off A after reaching 2:nd place in Group 2. In the playoff they made it to 1/4 Final, but lost it against Greengen FC with 1-2. In the Final, Kharis Sports Academy won over Greengen FC and became the winner of Play off A in Boys 18. Higashiyama Highschool comes from Kyoto which lies approximately 8500 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Kyoto does also provide two additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2019 (ASLJ FC and Jef United Chiba).
