Newbridge Town

Newbridge Town was one of four clubs from the Republic of Ireland that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2019. They participated with one team in Boys 16. In addition to Newbridge Town, 171 other teams from 29 different countries played in Boys 16. They were divided into 42 different groups, whereof Newbridge Town could be found in Group 5 together with Lørenskog IF 1, Tidaholms GIF and SA United SC. Newbridge Town continued to Play off A after reaching 2:nd place in Group 5. In the playoff they made it to 1/32 Final, but lost it against KFV Segeberg with 1-2. In the Final, ED Moratalaz won over SKF Latvia and became the winner of Play off A in Boys 16. Newbridge Town comes from Newbridge, County Kildare which lies approximately 1300 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. Other than Newbridge Town, the club Peamount United F.C. does also originate from the area around Newbridge, County Kildare.
