Västerås IK

Västerås IK was one of 402 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2019. They participated with one team in Girls 15. In addition to Västerås IK, 110 other teams from 14 different countries played in Girls 15. They were divided into 27 different groups, whereof Västerås IK could be found in Group 23 together with Tölö IF, Lambertseter IF and Älvsjö AIK FF. Västerås IK continued to Play off A after reaching 2:nd place in Group 23. In the playoff they made it to 1/32 Final, but lost it against Lyn Fotball with 1-3. In the Final, Team Odense Q won over Boo FF and became the winner of Play off A in Girls 15. Västerås IK also participated in Girls 14 during Gothia Cup 2018. They reached the 1/16 Final in G14 Play off A, but lost it against KFV Segeberg with 0-4. Västerås comes from Västerås which lies approximately 340 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Västerås does also provide 18 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2019 (Among others: Skultuna IS, Västerås BK30, Syrianska Eskilstuna IF, Fanna BK, BK Sport, Skiljebo SK, Eskilstuna United DFF, Jäders IF, Eskilstuna City FK and Forsby FF).
