Västanfors IF

Västanfors IF was one of 427 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2018. They participated with one team in Girls 18. In addition to Västanfors IF, 68 other teams from 10 different countries played in Girls 18. They were divided into 17 different groups, whereof Västanfors IF could be found in Group 4 together with Falköpings KIK, Donn, FK and CA Ouriense. Västanfors IF continued to Play off B after reaching 3:rd place in Group 4. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against Heffnersklubban BK with 0-1. In the Final, Kristianstads DFF won over Medkila IL and became the winner of Play off B in Girls 18. Västanfors comes from Fagersta which lies approximately 340 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Fagersta does also provide four additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2018 (Avesta AIK, Ludvika FK, Fagersta Södra IK and Östansbo IS).
