Tokyo Verdy

Tokyo Verdy was one of three clubs from Japan that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2018. They participated with one team in Gothia Trophy (G17). In addition to Tokyo Verdy, 15 other teams from 6 different countries played in Gothia Trophy (G17). They were divided into 4 different groups, whereof Tokyo Verdy could be found in Group 1 together with Kristianstads DFF, AIK FF and FC Nordsjælland. Tokyo Verdy made it to Play off A after reaching 1:st place in Group 1. Once in the playoff they won every match inluding the Final against NorCal Premier PDP, which they won with 3-1. Thereby Tokyo Verdy won the entire Play off A in Gothia Trophy (G17) during Gothia Cup 2018. Tokyo Verdy comes from TOKYO which lies approximately 8500 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around TOKYO does also provide two additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2018 (J-L Juniors and FC Tokyo).
