In addition to GIF Sundsvall, 35 other teams played in SEF Trophy. They were divided into 9 different groups, whereof GIF Sundsvall could be found in Group 9 together with Malmö FF, Karlslunds IF HFK and IFK Uddevalla. GIF Sundsvall continued to Play off A after reaching 2:nd place in Group 9. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against Vasalunds IF with 2-3. In the Final, AIK FF won over Helsingborgs IF and became the winner of Play off A in SEF Trophy. GIF Sundsvall also participated in Boys 15 Swe during Gothia Cup 2017. They reached the 1/8 Final in B15S Play off B, but lost it against BK Forward with 1-3.
