Vålerenga Fotball was one of 56 clubs from Norway that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2018. They participated with one team in Girls 18. In addition to Vålerenga Fotball, 68 other teams from 10 different countries played in Girls 18. They were divided into 17 different groups, whereof Vålerenga Fotball could be found in Group 2 together with SKF Spain, AIK FF, Heffnersklubban BK and Västerås BK 30. Vålerenga Fotball continued to Play off A after reaching 1:st place in Group 2. In the playoff they made it to Semi final, but lost it against FC Djursholm with 5-6. In the Final, Kungsbacka DFF won over FC Djursholm and became the winner of Play off A in Girls 18. Vålerenga Fotball also participated in Girls 18 during Gothia Cup 2017. They reached the 1/8 Final in G18 Play off A, but lost it against Asarums IF/FK with 2-4. Vålerenga Fotball comes from oslo which lies approximately 250 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around oslo does also provide 16 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2018 (Among others: Lyn Fotball, Lørenskog IF, Lillestrøm SK, Skjetten Fotball, FK Fjellhamar, Oppsal IF, Sætre IF Graabein, Rælingen FK, Nittedal IL and Øvrevoll/Hosle IL).
