Abu Dhabi Thistle FC

Abu Dhabi Thistle FC was one of 8 clubs from United Arab Emirates that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2018. They participated with one team in Girls 15. In addition to Abu Dhabi Thistle FC, 117 other teams from 10 different countries played in Girls 15. They were divided into 29 different groups, whereof Abu Dhabi Thistle FC could be found in Group 21 together with Notvikens Ik/ Luleå SK, Team Södermöre and Borens IK. Abu Dhabi Thistle FC continued to Play off B after reaching 4:th place in Group 21. In the playoff they made it to 1/32 Final, but lost it against BK Häcken with 0-5. In the Final, Glumslövs FF won over Vinslövs IF and became the winner of Play off B in Girls 15. Abu Dhabi Thistle FC comes from Abu Dhabi which lies approximately 5000 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Abu Dhabi does also provide two additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2018 (City Football Schools AD and ADYL Rep FC).
